Hi all, and welcome to another Music Monday, an idea that originated at The Tattooed Book Geek – ‘just a nobody with a blog’ (wordpress.com).
Sometimes you need to wallow in the filth. Sometimes you need anger, sometimes you need to relax. And sometimes you need loud, exuberant celebration of living. The sort of celebration that borders on braggadocio, for it contains the belief that all things are possible if we live with enough fierce joy.
Gentles all, The Charlatans
I’ve pretty much told you what I think of this song. The swing of that opening guitar riff packs in so much anticipation, and from that it’s mostly all just so much soundscape for Tim Burgess’ boisterousness. I love it, and it’s the ideal song for putting on loud when you need to get moving.
“Love shines a light
And it takes and it hurts
I know I’m right
I can bend till I burst
And love shines a light
And repays you with us
Yeah too right
I’m gonna pledge my time till the day I die”
End of the day, it leaves me full of life. But that’s just me – let me know what you think in the comments.
