#musicmonday – Big White Cloud by John Cale

Hi all, and welcome to another Music Monday, an idea that originated at The Tattooed Book Geek – ‘just a nobody with a blog’ (wordpress.com).

This is a song choice driven by mood, and maybe a little desire to put something a tad off of what I normally do (i.e. not metal, goth, or britpop). The world laughs when British people complain about the heat but the world is bringing it today and there’s a strange sense of sluggishness to life’s progression. This is a day to lie in a field and stare at the clouds until they’re fixed in your memory forever as part of a quiet time and place.

Instead I’m just about to have my first meeting of the week, you’re looking at a screen, and John Cale is about to sing Big White Cloud.

It’d be a good song to listen to while letting the world go by, wouldn’t it?

Here’s hoping you find some time to let that happen.

  1. “The world laughs when British people complain about the heat” –> either I’m now acclimatised or it *is* VERY hot, because this portuguese person is very much complaining about the heat…. (by the way, 28 C in England feels like 35 C in Portugal…)
The only sounds I want to listen to today are cool running water – but it’s too hot to walk to the river/little waterfall there.
